Dependent pass (DP).
As mentioned in previous posts on types of passes in Singapore, if you are a S pass or EP holder you may be eligible for a DP.
As per MoM, Eligible Employment Pass or S pass holders can bring certain family members to Singapore on a Dependant's Pass.
You can apply for a Dependant's Pass for your family if you meet these requirements.
Once a DP has been issued depending if you are a EP or S pass card holder it entitles your spouse to legally work in Singapore after successful application outcome of a Letter of consent (for EP only) or a Work Permit (for Spass only).
A letter of consent (LOC) is quite a unique pass compared to the other passes. The LOC is tied to the spouses pass and when the main holders pass expires so will the LOC. However the LOC is not limited to a companies quota as mentioned in work permits meaning there is no limit to how many LOC employees a company can have. For LOC eligible individuals it is a wonderful way to supplement your families income but also depending on how well you perform in your company you may also be offered a pass of your own. If your spouse is a highly skilled worker and at a certain point in time the company is able to apply for a EP for them, it adds a layer of security for the couple. Reason being you can avoid, for example, if one EP is cancelled, WFR, resignation, etc, so will the dependant pass and you will be given 30 days to either find another job or leave the country. But with both husband and wife holding EP's it gives either a fall back option.
